Foursomes is built around the group you play with. These guidelines are the code of conduct for that group — the equivalent of the unwritten rules every decent club already runs on, written down.
They apply everywhere you can be seen or heard by another player: the feed and posted rounds, reactions and replies, direct messages, group threads, crews, open games and claims, rosters, invitations, your profile, and your display name and photo.
They are part of the Terms of Service and work alongside the Acceptable Use Policy, which covers how you may use our systems.
Be the person the group wants in the next foursome.
Play it as it lies, count every stroke, and treat everyone the way you would if you were standing next to them on the first tee. Almost everything below follows from that.
Harassment and abuse. No targeting, pile-ons, threats, intimidation, or sustained unwanted contact. If someone has blocked you or asked you to stop, that is the end of it.
Hate. No attacks, slurs or dehumanising content based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
Threats and violence. No threats of violence, no encouraging self-harm, no glorifying either.
Sexual content. No pornography or sexually explicit material, and nothing sexual involving minors — ever, in any form, including fictional. We report child sexual abuse material to the authorities.
Exposing other people. No publishing someone's home address, workplace, phone number, private messages, photographs, or their live or home course location without their agreement. Where someone plays golf is personal information.
Impersonation. Do not pose as another player, a course, a professional, a brand or us. Parody is fine if it is obvious.
Spam and promotion. No bulk or repetitive posting, no unsolicited advertising, no affiliate spam, no invitation blasting people you do not know.
Scams. No fraud, phishing, fake giveaways, or pressure schemes.
Illegal content. Nothing unlawful, and nothing that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.
Your scores are not just yours. Friends' games ride on them, and the whole feed depends on them meaning something.
Falsified scores are treated as seriously as harassment, because they are a form of taking from other people.
Golf happens in the real world, near moving carts, swinging clubs and flying balls.
Both tools ship in the app and work immediately.
What happens next, honestly: reports are reviewed by our team. We are a small team, review is manual, and we do not currently operate a 24-hour moderation desk or guarantee a response time. We prioritise anything involving a minor, a credible threat of harm, or sexual content involving children.
Depending on how serious it is and whether it has happened before, we may:
Serious violations — anything sexual involving a minor, credible threats, or coordinated fraud — skip the ladder and result in immediate termination, and may be reported to the authorities.
If you think we got it wrong, email 4oursomes@foursomes.app with your account email and what happened. Tell us what you think we missed. A person will look at it again.
We will update these guidelines as the community grows. Material changes will be announced in the app.
